Lobbying

Lobbying in Europe

Data on lobbying are measured using two channels: (i) formal access to the European Parliament through accreditation in the EU Transparency Register, and (ii) the reporting of meetings by Members of the European Parliament (MEPs).

The Transparency Register records organizations and individuals engaged in interest representation and provides information on lobbying. Institutional details are available on the official Transparency Register website.

We scraped a dataset containing published meetings between Members of the European Parliament (MEPs) and interest representatives from 2019 onwards.

The data can also be consulted via the Open Science Framework (OSF) repository here.
